L2.4 Collaborative economy and tourism

* Analyse the processes and strategies for adapting the tourism platform economy (TPE) to the current context of constant change in Spain. Identify the vectors underpinning these adaptation processes, the performativities and modifications in the strategies applied to the use of TPEs in different territorial contexts and economic activities.

* Study the impacts and the specific restructuring and reshaping processes brought about by the different developments of the TPE in Spain, considering the main tourist destination typologies (urban, sun and beach, inland), both as regards the activity's different stakeholders and with respect to other sectors that are closely related to or impacted by the activity (from the primary sector and industry to other service sectors).

* Identify good practices driven by social and corporate mobilization, and the innovations in the formulation of public policies and tourism regulation that pursue the TPE's transition toward a model that fosters social, economic and environmental justice.

L2.6 Urban flows in tourism destinations

This research proposal focuses on urban mobility and city logistics in tourism destinations. It includes the study of the sector, and the companies operating in it. The main idea is that new (digital) technologies are democratising the access to new services, while promising a transition towards a more sustainable future, however the reality is not always that straight-forward.
