Abstract
Solutions to improve people’s health within the planetary boundaries need to be based on interdisciplinary approaches that consider a broad range of health determinants, including environmental and social ones. To further develop these solutions, research, education and policy making need to join forces and look beyond the Global North to find new ways of defining society goals, values and imaginaries.
This seminar will present different BITAL projects that approach these challenges: the GreenME project (focusing on nature and mental health equity in Europe and the US), the HEAT-GRAVITAS project (on extreme temperatures, housing and health of seniors in Barcelona), the IndiLead project (on lead exposure among indigenous communities living in tropical rainforests in Peru, Camerron and Indonesia) and the CATA-Earth project (on setting-up planetary health education programs in climate-vulnerable regions in Bangladesh and Indonesia).
